Choose your own adventure book #1!

Was anyone into these in primary school?? I loved them.

Found book 3 in the series at a second hand bookshop today which made me happy. And it’s about sunken treasure!!

The year is 1793 and I’ve found a box of letters in the attic. One of them is a map…Could it be a treasure map? My father says to wait to ask Captain Frye about it, but I could walk down to the docks right now and ask one of the sailors.

What should I do??

I wouldn’t call it a collection yet, but item 35 on the list is well on the way to complete.

    Having checked this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Choose_Your_Own_Adventure_books

You’ll find that a purist wouldn’t accept “Sunken Treasure” as a legit CYOA book. It’s number 3 of the ‘younger readers’ series.

I should have known better than to try and slip that one past you Marty “adventure boy” frost :-)
I actually didn’t realise there was a younger reader series! I feel a bit jipped knowing that it’s going to have ‘less severe “bad endings”‘ than the main series…

And I didn’t realise that the main series has so many titles! I guess odds are i have one of a rarer series!?! thanks for the link…

There are a few listings on ebay for large sets. It gives you a good indication of what books are amazing (heck, you could buy them too!).

The one I really remember reading in year 2 is “The Mystery of the Highland Crest” (1984). Your character discovers that his family is connected to a creepy Scottish mansion and he goes to visit. It turns out to be haunted by the ghosts of twins with a tortured past. Can he unwork their ancient wrongs?

One ghost is benign, one malicious (of course this is now anathema, being married to a twin). The evil twin kept pushing me off balconies or into the path of oncoming vehicles! It spooked me good!

  9. Arthur Says:

Also to newly pique my interest is “The Secret of the Ninja”…
