A good start to holidays

Holidays are already off to a good start.

Highlight of Saturday: Baking awesome banana muffins. (Recipe in ‘The essential baking cookbook’, Bay Books is sensational)

Highlight of Sunday: A trip to Earlwood Garden Centre. I added a bay tree, continental parsley and snow peas to our little herb garden.

I find both cooking and gardening very satisfying activities…(when they go right!)

  1. Ahh you sound like my wife. Her biggest interests at the moment are cooking and gardening. I just bought her a greenhouse for her birthday because our backyard lacks sun.
We’ve been looking around to acquire a plot of land in a community garden, but no luck as yet.

And we’ve just started to get into baking our bread from scratch. It’s delicious!

  2. Yeah, a greenhouse sounds like a good idea. I guess it will keep stuff growing a bit faster during winter too?

I didn’t realise that you could get plots of land for gardening like that. that’d be great! hope you find one!

fresh bread is good – but it is hard to justify the time when you can get bakers delight free from the college bread room :-)

  3. If you think Baker’s Delight justifies anything other than further reason to make your own bread, you are badly mistaken my friend :)
